The National Transporters Alliance Group Limited Is The National Council And Representation Body That Speaks And Represents Private Investors, Transporters And Related Stakeholders In The Technology Driven Public Transportation Sector In Jamaica.

As A Non-governmental, Non-Profit Organization It Seeks To Bring Together Individual Transport Authority Recognized And Duly Registered Stakeholders In A Singular Voice.

These Include License Holders Incorporating All Classes Of Road Licenses – Rural Stage Carriages/Urban Stage Carriages/ Route Taxis/ Express Carriages/ Hackney / Contract Carriages & Commercial Carriage (Green Plates).

Based In Manchester Jamaica, With Affiliates In Each Parish, NTAG Seeks To Represent, With The Goal Of Improving Business Profitability And Importantly Customer/Passenger Experience Through All available Means Driven by Technology.

Our Position and Goal “Every Jamaican Deserves To Have Access To A Modern Tech Driven Public Transportation Service That Is Safe, Comfortable, Cost Effective, Efficient And Reliable.”

The Aim is to bring together investors and key stakeholders in strategic areas of public transportation from all parts of Jamaica to stimulate the exchange of ideas and formulate a plan of action towards 2030.

Our Mission is To Achieve Vision 2030 Outcome #9 Of A Modernized Public Transport System That Contributes To Improved Quality Of Life For All Jamaicans.

Who are we?  We are a private sector group of individuals, corporate investors and operators, our firm position is that we are operating as private sector entrepreneurs, like the supermarket, gas station, market vendors, farmers, manufacturers, banks, insurance companies etc., putting up our own capital, and paying taxes etc., with the expressed goal to make a decent profit and ROI…. If we make a loss that is for our own account.

Free Market Advocates. NTAG does not support the view that the Government should set prices in the sector and that the forces of the free market should prevail, as outlined in the Governments position firmly articulated by the Minister of Finance in his 2022 Budget presentation.

 

Goals
1. To Provide A Platform That Will Facilitate Discussions, Collaborations Between Public and Private Partnerships For Effective Development Of The Sector, Strengthening The Foundation For An Improved Technology Driven Transportation System, Supporting The Development Of New Ideas Resulting In A Good And Efficient Service and Experience For Passengers And Customers.

2. To Identify, Recognize And Celebrate Noteworthy Behaviour and Initiatives Of Members In Line With Global Standards Of Transportation Systems, Encouraging Good Relations And Mutual Support Among All Transporters Celebrating Achievements, Implementing Internal Systems, Monitoring The Performance Of Members, Particularly Those Whose Activities Put The Lives Of The Commuting Public At Risk.

3. To Mobilize Participation For The Orderly Development And Improvement Of All Modes Of Transportation In Jamaica, Geared Towards Pollution Reduction And Promotion Of Safety, Instituting Internal Grievance Procedures, Training And Development Of Operators, Encouraging Compliance With Wearing Of Approved Uniforms And Public Passenger Vehicles (PPV) Badges By Members, and assistance with Insurance Coverage, Purchase Of Spare Parts, Tyres Etc.

4. To Ensure The Lobbying and Protection Of Members’ Interests, Notably Through Relevant Government Policies and Legislation In Parliament, and where required The Provision Of Legal Services Fighting Legal Cases On Behalf Of Individual Transporter Members.

5. To Ensure a steady and consistent supply of suitable trained human resources by Helping Younger People Make A Financial Success Of The Trade, Sharing Useful Research And Information About The Industry, Garnering Support To Encourage Excellent Performance For Better Achievement In Transport And Logistics.

Objectives
1. Secure A Membership Base Of 90% Of All Registered Drivers, Operators By December 2030

2. Implementation Of A National Cashless System By November 2030 With A National Participation Rate Of 50% Of The Travelling Public.

3. Implementation Of Transporter Smartphone Applications To Improve Service And Efficiency By 2030 With A National Participation Rate Of 60% Of Transporters.

4. Achieve An Annual 70% Positive Rating In Passenger And Customer Satisfaction and Experience by December 2030 As Measured By The National Customer Service Association Of Jamaica.
