About The Awards

• These Annual Awards are designed to Recognise Excellence And Professional Customer Service In The Public Transportation Sector.
• Seeking To Identify, Celebrate And Promote Innovations, Growth, Development And Excellent Service Delivery In The Transport Sector With Safety As The Ultimate Goal.
• Recognize and establish best practice for driving and customer service
• Bench marking and establishment of standards
• Identification and promotion of role models
• Professionalization of the sector and operators

Celebrate Growth in the Transport Sector: This award also seeks to acknowledge and celebrate the significant contributions of organizations, institutions, individuals etc. whose excellent service, delivery/ innovations have impacted and continue to impact on sectors growth and safety.

The Mission
To recognize excellence, expertise and outstanding industry leaders and leadership, organizations and institutions making significant contributions to the growth and development of the public transportation sector.

Key Goals
• Create Public Awareness: this award raises public awareness of the developments in the sector and how they will benefit.
• To Modernize The Sector: this award draws the attention of policy makers, investors, transport companies and other players within the sector who come in with their wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise to align the sector with global practice and emerging technology.
• Enhance Unity Amongst Players in the Sector: this award intends to create a platform where key players in the sector can network, discuss individual challenges and suggest/recommend the way forward.
• Facilitate Collaborations: To provide a platform that will facilitate collaborations between public private partnership for effective development of the sector.
• Strengthen The Foundation: To strengthen the foundation for an improved public transportation system.
• Encourage Excellent Performance: Garner support to encourage excellent performance for better achievement in transport and logistics.
• Recognize And Celebrate Noteworthy Initiatives: To identify, recognize and celebrate noteworthy initiatives in line with global standards of transportation systems.
• Mobilize Participation For Development And Improvement: To mobilize participation for development and improvement of all modes of transportation in Jamaica geared towards pollution reduction and promotion of safety.

Objective
Stage the first profitable event in November or December of 2023

Selection Process

Nominations accepted from within the public transportation community
Two rounds of voting and selection
1. Parish – Hosted by the parish Custos
2. National – hosted by the Governor General
Transporters nominate and vote at each level via mobile text creating the Largest National closed user group. Other methods to be explored and setup

The Parish Awards:
1. RedPlate Transporters in each parish nominate candidates for the parish level awards.
2 RedPlate Transporters vote by parish for who is the top operator. Award given to candidate with the most votes among his peers.
Should be part of the NATIONAL TRANSPORTERS ALLIANCE GROUP and RedPlate Transporters network to qualify.

National Awards:
1. Each parish winner then vies for the national award RedPlate Transporters islandwide vote for the candidate that best represents them.

Customer Service Award – Public Participation
Public will be invited to participate; their votes will account for a % of the final vote

Parish Awards
1. Customers in each parish nominate a RedPlate Transporters who they think provides excellent customer service.
2. Customers vote by parish for who is the top RedPlate Transporters. Award given to candidate with the most votes among customers in the parish.
(Customer should have downloaded the RedPlate Customer App so we can track votes.)

National Awards
Each parish winner then vies for the national award. Customers islandwide vote for the candidate that best represents excellent customer service.

Prizes and awards
Parish and National level
Cash and other items sponsored by corporate Jamaica.
Combination of cash, personal and household items and a motor vehicle
Formal awards presentation at the parish and national levels

Funding: Key Partners And Stakeholders
In addition to the Ten (10) “Headline Sponsor” and “Executive Producer” sponsors the following entities will be invited to participate:
• National and Parish Taxi Associations, Taxi and Bus Companies, Investors and stakeholders, and importantly the Transporters
• Ministry Of Transport
• Transport Authority
• Digital, Print, Radio And TV Media Partners
